Developer codes software applications to adhere to designs supporting internal business requirements or external customers.  The position is responsible for standardizing the quality assurance procedure for software modifications and creation.  Is responsible for overseeing testing and develops fixes. Position may require a bachelor's degree in a related area and 3-5 years of NextGen experience. Has knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks and works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude required. Typically reports back to a project leader or manager.  In addition, this position coordinates template design, implementation and support for all facets of the electronic medical records and enterprise practice management systems.  As a developer, ensures that all aspects of the software are implemented and functioning according to specifications requirements and/or development documentation.  


Primary responsibility is to ensure system stability, review and monitor assigned system change requests keeping the IT Director and NextGen support supervisor informed on all change requests.  In addition to maintaining and support our EHR systems.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other

 

·        Build and enhance the template sets available to the company Enterprise

·        Write specifications, design, build, test and implement programming code

·        Follow the company development and deployment standards

·        Analytical skills with the ability to formulate logic procedures, flowcharting and writing new code

·        Participate and contribute in initiatives that improve overall productivity

·        Proactively contribute to increasing the team efficiency by sharing knowledge, providing feedback about best practices, writing tools/utilities

·        Proven verbal and written communication capabilities

·        Demonstrated customer focus and desire to produce high-quality work products

·        Ability to work and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams

·        Present and maintain a professional image of the NextGen Application Support Department.

·        Maintain professional phone and e-mail etiquette.

·        Provide input on system change requests or enhancements

·        Maintain source code control documents

·        Review and obtain sign off on all system changes in QA prior to moving to Production

·        Lead and project manage upgrades, new system enhances and interfaces

 

Qualifications

Four+ years of healthcare, implementation and consulting combined experience. Must have interface build and troubleshooting experience. Must be able to design, develop, customize and test new NextGen templates. Experience with SQL and SQL database (including error diagnosing and creating stored procedures) is preferred. Build, enhance and test reports using SQL based query and reporting tools.
